Children enjoy delicious meal of cassava leaves grown in the school garden

Teaching children about sustainable farming and its crucial role in ensuring food security is an excellent initiative undertaken by Victoria International Preparatory School. By incorporating hands-on experiences such as farm trips into the curriculum, the school not only educates students about the importance of sustainable agriculture but also fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation for nature and food production.

Vegetable farming in Waterloo, Sierra Leone

Tomato Farming at Lungi Town Sierra Leone A sustainable Project

Vegetable production, including crops like tomatoes, can significantly contribute to farmers’ income generation and poverty alleviation in regions like Sierra Leone. Tomatoes are a staple ingredient in various dishes and due to their versatility and widespread use, there is a consistent demand for tomatoes throughout the year. This high demand creates a lucrative market opportunity for farmers who can successfully grow and harvest tomatoes

We empower small-scale tomato farmers in a town called Lungi in Sierra Leone to expand their operations, increase productivity, and generate sustainable income. We have provided farmers with seeds and fertilizers but they will benefit from much more with the support from funding. We are calling for collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to further amplify the impact of our interventions and contribute to the long-term prosperity of farmers and their families.
